What is the Wall of Love?

“Adam showed me what a true gentleman is, he showed me how a real man treats a girl. Any person who got the privilege to know Adam, even briefly like I did, is truly lucky. He was a ray of sunshine in a rather bleak world. I'm forever grateful that I approached him that night. It has definitely taught me how much more positivity there is waiting for me out there, I just have to be open to finding it. I know from personal experience and from my close friends how this loss has impacted those who knew him. His memory deserves to live on and it will within every single person whose life he touched.”

I met Adam at Laura's Halloween party. I had known of him from my time at Milton District in grade nine but we never really spoke. Normally I'm not a very social person but Adams smile was so kind and inviting, I didn't feel nervous to speak to him. That was definitely my favourite thing about him, his smile. We ended up really hitting it off and talking the rest of the night. He asked me out on a date and I agreed. He brought me to his football game the next week. He spoke a lot about football and how excited he was to play again next year, it was clear that he was very passionate about being on that team.
We went out later that night and spent most of the night talking about anything and everything. He told me about all of his future goals and the things he valued most. It was clear to me that he really prioritized family, especially his sister Amilya. He spoke only positively about all of his friends. It felt like his main goal was to make me laugh or smile. He treated me with the most genuine kindness the entire time. Adam showed me what a true gentleman is, he showed me how a real man treats a girl. Any person who got the privilege to know Adam, even briefly like I did, is truly lucky. He was a ray of sunshine in a rather bleak world. I'm forever grateful that I approached him that night. “Dearest Malki family. The generosity and strength you have shown in the face of such a tragic loss are truly inspiring. I never had the privilege of meeting Adam, but through this act of kindness, his legacy is a source of hope for so many. This scholarship is a testament to the light you have created from unimaginable pain, and for that, I am in awe.”

“When the end of School bell went off we would walk through the halls together and I would split off to the Cafeteria for a few minutes before Football practice, while Adam responsibly went straight to the locker room to start getting ready for the part of the day he loved the most and couldn’t get enough of. The part of the day where he made not just his best friends, but more so his brothers of life. The brothers he shed sweat and blood with. Most importantly this was the part of the day where he felt the most belonging in his life. As he’s expressed to me countless times, as a bigger guy it was harder for him to fit in. Be treated properly, and with respect. To make an impact in sport. That all came flooding downhill when he met Football in his Grade 9 year, and he freaking loved it! As my Grade 12 Senior High School Football season approaches closer and closer, I can’t help but think that he won’t be there by me and our Mustang brothers sides."

I met Adam when I was in Grade 9 playing on the Junior High School Football team. He was a year older in Grade 10 playing an important role on both sides of the ball at the Lineman position. It was my first time ever playing tackle Football, also being a new Grade 9 so we had only briefly interacted and never got to really know each other. Especially since I was a small and not very good Grade 9 who didn’t play, there was no real way for us to get to become friends.
That was all until first semester of my Grade 11 year and his 12th, where we really bonded and became friends. During School hours we had Double-Credit Construction class together in the morning, where we worked on and built the Milton District Tiny Home, we both really enjoyed Construction and it was our favourite class of the day. Then during fifth period when my Auto class ran, it overlapped with his Double-Credit Auto. So while the teacher was sometimes busy running 2 classes at the same time, Adam would always help me since I needed it often. Especially being it was my first time taking Auto. Which is why Adam’s kindness is so often talked about and it is for a reason. Whether it was him helping me in class or on the Football field, or a favour I needed done and he was there. No hesitation, like the time I wanted to take a bunch of scrap Construction wood to my house so I could have a fire with it. The problem was I had no way of getting it there. A couple people with licenses I asked to help me out wouldn’t do it but Adam had no problem with it! So on lunch after Construction class was over we piled up his cars trunk with as much as we could fit in it and away we went.
Then when the end of School bell went off we would walk through the halls together and I would split off to the Cafeteria for a few minutes before Football practice, while Adam responsibly went straight to the locker room to start getting ready for the part of the day he loved the most and couldn’t get enough of. So much that he had plans to come back for a Grade 13 year after our unfortunate season ending loss, last season. As my Grade 12 Senior High School Football season approaches closer and closer, I can’t help but think that he won’t be there by me and our Mustang brothers sides. I remember it like yesterday how exited he was to come back for another season and dominate.
Though I know his beautiful angel-like soul with always be there with us. God forgive and bless him. May he rest peacefully in the kingdom of heaven.
Who Was Adam
Adam was the kind of person you noticed, not because he demanded attention, but because he gave it. He had this way of looking at you like you mattered, like in that moment, you were the only person in the world worth listening to. It didn’t matter who you were - the star athlete, the quiet kid in the corner, the janitor sweeping the hallway - Adam saw you. And not just saw you… he valued you.
At school, Adam was more than just a student or a teammate. He was a builder of bridges. On the football field, he wore #65 proudly. He wasn’t just there to win; he was there to lift everyone up. His kindness was active. He didn’t wait for the world to be kind to him; he went out and made it kind for someone else. He made people feel seen, feel safe, feel like they belonged.
Adam’s passing in December 2024 left a silence so loud it’s hard to describe. But the truth is, Adam’s light hasn’t gone out. It’s in every scholarship that now helps a student chase their dream. It’s in every person who learned from him what it means to show up for others. It’s in every act of kindness sparked by the memory of the boy who believed in people, even when they didn’t believe in themselves.
Adam didn’t just live 17 years — he changed 17 years’ worth of lives. And that is a legacy no amount of time can erase.
